GentleBrook announces the addition of an Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility in Hartville, Ohio. This new 49 bed facility will be open in Spring of 2017.
This new facility will provide Hartville and the surrounding communities with desired and needed senior services. The new program will embrace a social model of care. Medical components will be incorporated within all programming to ensure the health and safety of each client. However, the overall experience will be about social engagement and activity to enhance each client’s quality of life.
GentleBrook, also has a vast array of opportunities to engage older adult clients with clients of developmental disabilities through an inter-generational approach. These opportunities include activities such as: woodworking, sewing, candle-making, soap making and other craft-based projects offered through GentleBrook's workshop, as well as farming and horticultural activities through Miller's Greenhouse and Farm.
We will connect older adults by reintroducing activities that were once part of their daily lives, in a safe and senior-friendly setting.
All of these types of activities provide older adult clients with opportunities to teach and share from previous life experiences, allowing them
to enrich the lives of others as well as their own.
